Egypt is located in the northeast corner of Africa. It borders with the Mediterranean Sea to the North, Libya to the West, Sudan to the South and Israel to the East.

 Egypt has a hot desert climate, which means that there are 2 seasons: warm winters and hot summers . Rain is rarely seen, except for the northern coast, where it often rains in winter. The Nile , known as the father of African rivers, is not only the longest river in Africa, but also the place of birth of Egyptian civilization. We can distinguish two major tributaries: the White Nile and the Blue Nile . Its mouth is in the Mediterranean Sea, to the North of the country, where we can find the Nile Delta (one of the largest in the world) and important cities like Cairo and Alexandria . The best time to visit Egypt is between October and April , when temperatures are cooler, but still pleasantly warm across the country.

 1. GIZA PYRAMID COMPLEX They are one of the 7 Wonders of the World and it is located less than 20km away from Cairo. They are the 3 tombs of the pharaohs Keops, Kefren and Micerinos. 2. ABU SIMBEL Abu Simbel is the site of two ancient Egyptian temples. The site is located on the Nile River in southern Egypt. The pharaoh Ramses II built the two temples in the 1200BC. The main temple was dedicated to two sun gods. 3. THE VALLEY OF THE KINGS AND QUEENS The Valley of the Kings was a great burial ground for the Pharaohs. After around 1500 B.C. the Pharaohs no longer built great pyramids in which to be buried. Instead, most of them were buried in tombs in the Valley of the Kings. There are over 60 tombs in the Valley of the Kings. Unfortunately, most of the tombs were looted thousands of years ago and the treasure was stolen or removed by thieves. 4. Cultural: Abu Mena (1979): an early Christian holy city built over the tomb of the martyr Menas of Alexandria. We can find the church, baptistry, basilicas, public buildings, streets, monasteries, houses and workshops. Ancient Thebes with its Necropolis (1979):  Thebes, the city of the god Amon, was the capital of Egypt during the period of the Middle and New Kingdoms. With the temples and palaces at Karnak and Luxor, and the necropolises of the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens, Thebes is a striking testimony to Egyptian civilization at its height.
